I really don't understand your motivation.
Are you guys really that desperate for drivers that you are conducting an all out social media blitz in effort to present an image you never had.

You must understand that it is social media which has become the undoing of predator companies like yourselves.

You can no longer simply make a bunch of false claims and expect people to fall for them. Too many people are conected to one another and share the truth. The truth spreads fast and once you acquire the reputation you have earned it is nearly impossible to overcome it.

Good luck however but you have nothing to prove to those of us here because we are simply not interested.

You should see the idiot Heartland driver on Facebook who made an illegal U-turn across 4 Lanes of traffic on Goodman Drive in Olive Branch Mississippi and you're so proud of hiring idiots like that

No more excuses for drivers being sucked into

Fair point, @tow614. We appreciate the feedback.

We use social media as a tool to be responsive and open about what the driver lifestyle and culture is like at our company. Additionally, why not be a direct and real resource for people? In this digital age, the tools are there to provide a real perspective.

I think you'll find that we're not out here trying to "fake it" or make false claims. It's too bad you feel that way. But, like I said earlier, maybe now that you have a window into our company, you may feel differently. Maybe not. And that's your prerogative. We're not begging for drivers, by any means. We're out trying to find the best, but we don't make concessions when it comes to safety, record, etc.

Check the recent Facebook posts in our page and you can see more of our responsive and helpful approach to questions and comments. Same goes for this forum and other spaces.

    All the best,
    Rob at Heartland Express

We've seen the video that you're describing. We wouldn't use that description, but we're aware. Drivers will make mistakes and when the situation calls for it, mistakes have consequences. It's been addressed.

Thanks for asking. I manage the social media efforts on behalf of our company in North Liberty, Iowa. Trucking has been a part of my family all my life.

I appreciate you reaching out and sharing that. Just curious, what's your take on who we are? Ask away, if you feel we do business in a less-than-ideal way.

It's always a good idea for a trucking company to have someone on their staff, monitor trucking forums on the internet. Being optimistic and having a positive attitude will do no good. Unfortunately the damage that this carrier has done, has already occurred to countless drivers. Bait n switch tactics are pervasive throughout the trucking industry and Heartland Express is certainly not exempt from using that tactic to persuade drivers to come on board. The life blood of any trucking company is its drivers, just like an Airline needs pilots. In the final analysis, we can be sure that these unsavory but obviously necessary tactics (to trucking companies) will continue. As drivers, it is our responsibility to remain vigilant and warn others when this occurs. That is part of what this forum is all about.

I take my hat off to all the men and women out there who want nothing more than to earn an honest living driving a truck, without having to endure the scams that come with it.

That is not trucking. Nobody likes a liar

If you want the best drivers, change your pay structure. Give a weekly pay guarantee and stand behind it.
