Here's another problem... the reason why companies like Heartland and the other Mega carriers have the astronomical turnover rates it's simply this... when you promised stuff that you can't or no you will never deliver that is deceiving and lying to drivers and any good driver will tell a company to go pound sand and turn in the keys and go elsewhere... I know a lot of these Mega carriers I'll always screaming there's a driver shortage there is no driver shortage the only shortage is quality drivers that are not willing to hang around and put up with the nonsense that these carriers pull on them...

Sounds like that's been a great fit for both parties. Cheers to your continued successes together. Truly.

We aren't afraid to look beyond our walls and do things a bit differently. Perhaps this method of responsive and open digital service is a small bit of proof?

    Thankfully, many.

But, to your point, I think we could all agree the turnover in our industry is far too high. We play a role in stemming that tide. Hopefully, through openness to driver feedback and proving that our drivers have a voice, we can do our part. Answering questions and allowing our drivers the opportunity to share their constructive feedback is critical. It's how any business and industry grow and improve, right?

Also look at Nussbaum out of Illinois. They have a pay guarantee for their drivers. Search the forum here for Nussbaum. There are not many good companies to drive for. Find out who the good ones are. Do what they do for their drivers. If you get a good enough reputation, maybe can can raise your standards for new drivers and reduce accident claims.

    You bet. Good info. Thanks.

When it comes to safety, you'd have to look back to 2015 for the last time it was posted publicly, but we lead the top carriers in CSA scores across the board. We take that piece of the business very seriously.

Thanks for all your discussion. We're here to serve.

I appreciate your point, but we're not here for any damage control. The mission of participating in these forums is to provide an open look into our company and answer questions drivers may have. My personal feeling is that openness and responsiveness is a healthy and positive way of doing business. Not here to sell anything, just serve as a resource.

I worked for Heartless in 2001. Did the orientation and on the road. My agreement with heartless was home every two weeks with three days off. They said no, its 24-36 hours off.
I dont mind if thats thier policy, but they screwed up my family's plan.
    Xxxxxx thier recruiters and mgt.

Sorry to know that was your experience, @buckmanmike. With the change in our divisional makeup, we've solved many of the home time challenges that we faced many years ago.

Thankfully, much has changed in 16 years. Hopefully, you've found a better fit since then.

The biggest cause of driver turnover is uncompensated time. That is what the obsession about "getting miles" is all about.
I don't have to worry one bit about how many miles I get. My full paycheck is there every Friday. I see myself as a salaried employee. I do not take advantage of that either. The last time I looked I was 17 out of 550 trucks for monthly miles run.
