You mean lease on to a trucking company or pull loads from a trucking company? I wish i could answer your question but its not that easy. It all depends, sometimes you can find a decent broker to work for that will pay you good money on a load board and the stick with him. I would look for people local to you who you can start a relationship with though. I tried the direct freight board, even though it "cuts out the broker" it was still mostly cheap crap like on all the other boards.... Its basically shippers posting it direct who will not give you and advance and will pay you after 30 days, 95% of them on there anyway.

dont ever lease a truck from a company. buy a used one from a reputable dealer. you will pay twice as much, if not more for that lease purchase truck.

ya get yer won truck, make sure that you pay all yer own highway taxes, do not let the company hold the money out of yer settlement checks, they will take more then what is needed. buy yer own insurance and yer own plates and ifta tags.

i have found they do tend to overcharge, but hey, time is money
i dont have the time to do most of the leg work,i will pay someone else to do it for me
i have found the overpayment to be acceptable in most cases...
by the time i do the research, get frustrated, get the runaround, fax and refax, sometimes its best to let the pros do it...
