Cummins ISX Overhaul

    Hi Everyone This is my first post in this forum. I own a 2009 Peterbilt and had an overhaul completed by Cummins. I was told the truck had a dropped valve so we decided to do an overhaul for the cost of $26K. After picking up the truck it went 150 miles and the check engine light came on. We took the truck to the nearest Cummins and were told the turbo was bad (replaced in overhaul) and it took out the DPF filter. This was repaired under warranty. Truck left the repair facility, 50 miles down the road, check engine light came on. We turned the truck around and went back to the repair facility where they cleaned the DPF filter system. Left the facility, 50 miles down the road, check engine light came on. We were under load so we continued on to drop the load. Went to the nearest Cummins and were told an injector went and took out the turbo, etc. I was shocked the injectors had not been replaced during the overhaul and they told me this repair would not be covered under warranty. My question is: Why would a repair facility not replace injectors on a truck that had 900,000 miles, nor tell me they were not going to replace these injectors? I am not a mechanic and I trusted the repair facility to do a thorough job as I was spending alot of money!!!!! What is your definition of an overhaul?

    Liners, pistons & bearings. Turbo, water pump, oil pump & head are extra. Sometimes pistons are extra! lol

    For 26K, I would have them spell everything out on what was going to be replaced.
    Sorry for your circumstances, that just sucks. I might just lawyer up.

    That's a lot of money and a lot of inconvenience.

    When I look at rebuild kits. Most indicate injectors are extra.
    What is in your quote/estimate.

    Good luck with that attorney.

    Yea, forgot to ask that also, what did the quote and work order show about injectors. Some shops will note a certain part was ok and reinstalled
    But for that money, it seems like they would of replaced injectors also
    Hope you can get things right by them

    you got screwed ,,for $26K you should have gotten an complete overhaul with a 200K warranty,,

    With the repairs you paid for , this might have been a better option. Hindsight 20/20 and all.
