    @KillingTime & @DTP ...Thank you.

    Y'all just confirmed my gut feeling with your posts.

    Cost of goods (and freight rates) will get a shock once e-logs kick in.

    Drivers aging out, Equipment failures (DPF/DEF anyone?), Shippers/Recievers Inefficiencies, Incompetent Swift Drivers (see what I did there?) will all force a grand slowdown of freight and when that happens, there's only one way for the rates to go.

    Desperate shippers/recievers will have to compete for the ever elusive "reliable" drivers...and rates will go up quick!

    Not yet it's still under construction.
    I've got contractors there right now.

    I wouldn't count on it, it's amazing how many guys these companies find that'll work for next to nothing because they're either dumb or desperate. Or both. We have guys here making $.33 a mile and grossing under $700 a week. Throw in all the foreigners that'll work cheap and the students from the CDL puppy mills who don't know any better and nothing changes...

    I would beg to differ.

    These "foreigners" are not dumb as you think (actually students are more dumb than foreigners...but Darwinism weeds them out quick).

    Fact # 1: E-logs **WILL** slow the velocity of goods moving from A --> B. This will happen via the 10hr break. No more will drivers hop-skip-jump over hours to magically create capacity, when they cannot legally, have the wheel rolling.

    Fact # 2: Wheels not rolling means whoever can "roll" will get a chance to ask for more $$ -- yes, even these "foreigners". Americans did not invent capitalism...they just embraced it more...and as you know, "when in Rome?..."

    Fact # 3: Shippers will have to compete for this "I'm available for $$ plus" driver who is not on reset/10hr break

    Fact # 4: Higher demand (reduced capacity supply), results in higher prices -- econ 101

    I think you should have more faith in market forces...even when affected by goverment actions (ELD), or Generational realities (aging)

    Think about it this way: why do plumbers & electricians make more now than 10 yrs ago? I dont think the "systems" changed that much...but when there's a bottleneck in the pipeline for creating new COMPETENT performers, then existing players get a chance to force a re-adjustment of the prices upwards, since the "experienced ones" are aging out.

    Good luck. I think Mail Contract Carriers also go by the same rules as well. You might wanna check them out as well.

    I worked there for 3.5 years. Not going the right direction. And that's just another OTR job
