Yes,the title was a click bait but here is the thing.I decided to exchange my flip flops for boots. Cowboy boots to be precise. Any of you drivers know of a good cowboy boots store WITH TRUCK PARKING ?
Yes,I sometimes see billboards advertising boots stores but my policy (based on my experience) is not to take an exit if I am not sure that I will be able to either park or turn around easily.
At the moment I am in Houston TX area but please post any location you know of.

OK, last pair I bought at Boot Corral, Goodlettsville,TN I-65 Exit 97 right across the interstate from Associated Grocers Warehouse. Don't know if they're still open or not; it's been a few years. Bought a few pairs there; last pair the color is "Blackberry" which is "almost black." Beautiful cowboy boot. Drivers living in Texas may have better advice.
Cowboy boot stores are all over Texas. One time I bought a pair at "Sheplers Western Wear" somewhere in Texas. Their website shows a big sale now.[IMG]

For every day trucking, I don't recommend classic variety "cowboy boots". Leather soles are great for on the dance floor, but that's about it. Maybe consider other types of pull-on boots like Red Wings or other. One of the larger boot and western wear places in Texas is just SE of Decatur off of US-287 (forget the name) and they have truck parking.

Then there's Boot Barn near the Town East Mall in Mesquite (Used to be Sheplers)

BTW Redwing "Pecos" style boots are made in the USA. There are a few other "Made in the USA" boots (non western) but not many.

Canada West boots are like slipping into a warm comfortable,,,,and they have Vibran? sole instead of leather on their cowboy boots.

Also consider what you want to be wearing if you run winters in snow-prone regions. Snow and slush and mud will quickly ruin most typical "western boots". At least look for an "oil-resistant" and/or "slip resistant" sole. If you flatbed, look for steel toe.

I don't get down along I-10 very often any more so can't make any location suggestions in Houston area but I'm sure there's more than a few. But many of the western wear places in Texas can accommodate trucks. Call them first or check Google Sat view

Be sure to wear a good thick (not thin but not necessarily winter grade thick either) crew sock that you like when trying on boots for the first time

    What's wrong with flip flops?

I like having my feet breath. And not getting sweaty from lack of air. :)

Thanks. Don't know why I didn't think about calling stores to ask about parking?!
