Is anybody really making enough profit?

If I wasn't making a profit I sure still wouldn't be doing it! Have you checked the idiots on the road lately? :biggrin_2554:

Okay, I enjoy it and if I can't handle the daylight group there is always the nighttime.

I'm making a profit, of course I don't run the East coast either. I'm one of those crazy NW into Canada drivers. I run where the $$ is at. :yes2557:

I'm trying to find someone to lease my 98 Volvo on with. Would they take a truck that old?

most of the companies i have checked with will generally want you to have a 5 year old or newer truck, at least to start with

I'm leased to Crete, and they generally want trucks 5yrs or newer. However, it wont hurt to check. Especially if you live near, or go through, Lincoln, NE, where you could take your truck to let them inspect your truck.

I think Landstar will take any age tractor.

Another reason to never haul cheap freight...the brokers record how cheap you hauled the last load with them. They know what they can get away with with you! For instance, if you hauled copper for $1.60 per mile just once, they won't budge during future negotiation.:biggrin_25525:

that right there is why i am kinda shying away from brokers, ya never know what yer gonna earn from one load to the next. i would rather go with a company like Shneider that has a set amount, last i checked it was 90 cents a mile plus fuel surcharge, this week it was 1.24 a mile. plus ya get to use there fuel cards.
