Wassup y'all. Tonight I'm in Fackler, AL. Yesterday was what my wife would call a "comedy of errors". I love that phrase and use it all the time now. In my last post I mentioned I was heading to Valdosta. I dropped there, and was deadheaded to Albany to pick a beer load. I've been to that place a couple times, and was sort of familiar with it. I dropped my empty and picked up my loaded trailer. I was given this load to drop at Cartersville because my truck had a check engine light that was on for a couple days and hadn't gone away like they usually do. I was supposed to drop the load there and have my truck looked at. Side note....something happened at the brewery that NEVER HAPPENS. When you leave there, they scale your truck. Before I scaled, some guy came to my door and took both my paperwork and my license. I have never had to hand over my license at any place EVER unless I was at the counter, and they hand it right back to you. So, I scaled the truck and went inside for my paperwork. They never gave me my license back. I was frustrated with the guy that took my license, and my mind was focused on where I was going next. So, I forgot that they still had my license. I was intending to get to Cartersville last night, but traffic and a nasty downpour forced my hand to stop south of Atlanta. Thank god I did. I had to go back this morning to get my license, then head north. Now....last night my check engine light finally went away so I asked Opie if he just wanted me to take this load to the final instead of dropping it. This load wasn't due until the 5th but he got me a delivery time for today at 1pm. When I got parked, I let him know about my license. He said to go back and get it, and he'd shoot me a new delivery time for tomorrow. Well, it turns out that place isn't open on the weekend. So, I dropped in Cartersville as originally planned. He gave me a load that picked up in eastern Alabama, and gets dropped at our Texas terminal. From there, grabbing a loaded trailer at the terminal and heading to Huntsville AL. That's really close to where I am now. Talk about a turnaround, I thought I was screwed. This is going to be a good week, and I was sure it wouldn't be because of yesterday. Obviously the miles I drove from the beer pickup and the return trip are unpaid. I was so mad at myself. But it definitely worked out. I am so grateful right now for my dispatcher. This could have been a pretty ugly week for miles. And lesson learned. You don't get my license unless you are handing it right back, period. If the folks inside need it, I will give it to them when I walk inside. That's the way it has always been at this location, not sure what that dude's deal was. All's well that ends well I guess. Great read steelersjunkie, Millis is where I got my start good company one thing I liked about them they will keep you moving. Only time I can remember sitting is when you got that nice long run up to Shelby, Iowa and had to sit for a day or so waiting on a load.

New drivers are 62. They can get 66 if they meet the same requirements that experienced drivers do to get 70.
