    Same old Poly .....

No .... they still don't pick up the phones , short of an
accident there's really no reason for them to talk to drivers.

Once you leave with a load and should
something occur repairs are handled by Michelin
On Call Service . Drop a message in the Qual COMM
to your dispatcher alerting them and they take it
from there by arranging a Repower .
    Get to a hotel and wait . ( $100.00 a day breakdown
    + Hotel reimbursement up to 2 days ** )

I don't ever recall having to make any decisions, the
place is set up and sort of runs itself .

Come to think of it , Poly is literally like living inside
that movie Mean Girls .... it's run by the Plastics
( It has a snobby culture club sort of atmosphere )

Stay on the Load Board .... become a load number
    and roll

If your not a load number at Poly ..... $ your missing out $

    Hope that helps

    :)

** Things can get sticky after 2 days , I can't really advise you
on this issue , it's a new thing they dropped in our laps

-Just bought a bunch of peterbilts (I didn't get one) , don't know if they're keeping the maxforces, hope not.

-The first time I applied it took forever to contact me. When they did contact me I blew them off. A few months later I changed my mind and reapplied.

-They called me before I could get back home, just 4 miles away. They had me come right back for the interview. I was in their orientation a few days later.

The best way to get your truck serviced is on the road, otherwise it'll take 2 weeks for them to fix it at the shop.

Some guys leave the shop knowing their truck won't make it, just so they can get it fixed on the road.

My truck has been shopped for almost 2 weeks now in Grand Prairie.

Just Friday they finally decided to send it to the International dealer. I had previously gotten it fixed southwest of Richmond, VA, but it kept giving me trbl.. All the internationals were closed for the holiday so I made the mistake of limping back to our shop.

They have loaners but I'll just get pissed if I start out in one and it breaks down within 10 miles, which they often do. The last time I agreed to take a loaner, the first 2 were total crap, one of which sounded like it had a blown motor. I finally took one and it broke down 7 miles away and I had to wait 3 hrs w/ no a/c in the summer waiting for a tow truck.

-Command decision?? I've never made one driving a truck, never will. If it takes them forever to return my call, then it takes forever. I won't put myself out on a limb for any trucking co.. I can just guess that they'll be pissed if I make the wrong call.

I know one thing, if your a/c/ breaks down when under a load, they won't authorize a repair until you deliver your load, even if your load doesn't deliver for 4 days and you're 1 day away and it'll just take a few hrs to fix.

I don't get their logic here at Poly. I think they only live for their annual Sam's Club recruitment drive, they hold it under the pretense of being an annual driver meeting.

The Pete's are tag axle , Cummins automatics and don't idle. No auto start / stop.
Been told the only fridge allowed has to be one bought from peterbuilt, $700.00 driver buys it and the shop wires it in.
Also told several drivers want no part of them.
Shop no longer pms at night , and word is pms now take 4+ hrs. Thurs 6/8 arrived G.P. 2030. Finally sat. Morning 0530 they take it in for pm , no issues were reported none were found. They park it back on the truck line at 1pm sat.
4 in front of me for a pm at time I arrived. 40.5 hrs to pm 5 trucks.
My load scheduled to leave out sun.10am. Comes available 10pm. 2 of my last 3 loads now have had to be rescheduled. I'm not gonna drive 600 miles starting 10hrs after I woke up. Not now , not in the past and not in the future. So tomorrow I'll likely be repower 600 miles from here. After sitting 3.5 days, I'll get to run 1/2 The distance and then head back here for more abuse. What a wonderful world .

I'll give my opinion on some of your question.
We get breakdown and layover pay at 100 a day. No layover at home terminal. How long you stay in a hotel when broke down depends on several things. We are required to call the driver supervisor after 2 days of being broke down and let them know the situation.

Nobody knows what's going on with the maxxforce. Last I heard they wanted to get rid of the 2012 ones we have but who knows. I got a new Pete and i wouldn't go back to a prostar if they offered it at the moment.

Application process nobody really knows. Everyone seems to have a different experience with that. I know we are hiring.

You can get the truck fixed where ever you want really depending on whats wrong. I would always get mine worked on during hometime or at grand prairie and just get a loaner. People complain about the loaners but I've done around 70k miles in loaners in 2 and a half years and only one broke down where I couldn't make it back and I usually took a maxxforce loaner.

I don't call anyone and ask them any questions if I can help it. I've had loads come out of grand prairie to late where a drop needed rescheduled and i rescheduled it myself and then called dispatch to inform them. I've been snowed in and I call and tell dispatch they need to reschedule it because I couldn't get a hold of the customer. There's really no reason to call anyone unless it's a safety question or cover your ### type thing.

I'm wondering if they shut off after a certain time. If there isn't consideration for outside temp, that's a definite deal breaker.

In the past they've had mine for a little over 7 weeks , fortunately
my loaner truck didn't let me down .
Heard the other day they had close to 100 trucks out back
that were not road worthy .... 20 or so still down from last year
The shop ..... well , never mind

I have managed to avoid all but 2 of their meetings
All these corporate welfare bums do is stand up there
and congratulate themselves for 2 hours .... it's so totally
    pointless to most drivers

Another thing worth noting . I avoid NE runs now since going on
E logs , the couple times I've gone that way I almost didn't make ,
it's always too close for comfort .
Between the traffic in that area , the time lost waiting on shipping
    ( 24 hours behind ) in GP it's a bust .

Last time down in GP I almost lost out on my load they had no
loaners to give out..They pulled my regular truck out of the shop
at the last moment and put me back in it so I could roll
If it ever comes to a point where I loose my load due to no trucks
    I'm Gone from Poly
