What do you mean not record something? Guys still get busted for form and manor violations for not putting in the required info such as trip information (load number or description), truck and trailer number, etc etc.

Like it didn't record a coordinate at a change of duty or it records some inaccurate speed like my gps did the other day saying I was doing 110 mph.

I haven't had that issue but i do look to make sure it is doing its job right. And will add comments at anything goofy. Example: i checked in at alcoa in alcoa Tennessee to deliver. If you've never been three that plant is freaking huge. Probably more than 10 square miles. After waiting at the gate for 30 minutes i got sent to the unloading area, not far enough too kick the elog into drive line but far enough it thought i was then in another city. I just noted that i drove 3 miles inside the plant.

I believe that is set by the carrier by all elog manufacturers.

    Interesting.
Is there not a fmcsa standard for this to make a particular eld be compliant?

Nope. There's good reason to have some range before it triggers anyways. I also use JJ Keller but I have it set to 5 miles before it will automatically switch to driving.

I've been in some pretty large power plants where the staging yard might be a mile up their private road from where I'm unloading or loading. When you spend all day moving around in there you are never actually driving on public road so it isn't counted as drive time.

    Dharok Thanks this.
