I bought a nice barely used Honda EU3000is from a guy today. Paid $1,4000 for it. It came with a 5th wheel he purchased from an older couple who hardly used it and you can tell. Since he already has his own, he made some money on it.

Fired right up and I cannot believe how quiet the thing is. I bought an 8,000 btu portable room a.c. I was concerned about the load capacity ability. I plugged the thing in with the eco-mode off, let it run for a minute and then kicked the eco-mode on, there was absolutely no noticeable draw down on the generator at all. Think I'm going to return the a.c. tomorrow and get the 10,000 btu one for $40 more.

I visited with a local fabricator this afternoon and he is going to fabricate me a custom box that fits on the back of the tractor across the rail, it will have venting and access for service, etc. It will also have a separator that will allow me to store safely a couple of DOT approved cans for gas. I'm going to get a hand pump that I can pump gas out of the cans into the generator tank with.

We're also going to vent the a.c. through the floor of one of the closets. The unit has an auto evaporation system allows continuous use without removing water, which is nice. He's also going to run a wire from the electric starter on the generator to the truck batteries so I can start it from the inside of the truck, good Lord, what a lazy ### LOL.

I will post pics when the project is done...

Just did my holiday project and got setup for window A/C. Already had a Yamaha EF2000 generator in its own frame rail box for some time. The Columbia I have has one of those one piece window designs that made it necessary to take sheet of 1/2" plywood and cut out a section to mount A/C unit. Nice thing is, there is a little over 1/2" wide channel all the way around the window area, and once I cut the Plywood to match, I fit it in, close the door, and I have a nice sealed setup. I put reflective insulation material on the outside of the plywood to radiate heat away. Setup works like a champ! Easy to install and remove A/C unit and the plywood frame. The A/C is not permanently mounted on the plywood frame. I extended the reflective insulation so that it covers over the lowered window and door sill to protect it. Total cost... about $160. The bracket supports for the A/C are spring loaded and fold down. Makes it nice to store everything away in the truck.

Very nice. I had several champion generators they stood behind them like no company I've ever seen.
