25 per cent is alright if the boss keeps you loaded most of the time. If you have a lot of empty miles it might not be quite as good.
Ask your boss what the loads pay. If he refuses to tell you, start looking for another job.
Just remember, on percentage if the boss raises the rate you get a pay increase but if he cuts the rate you get a wage chop, ready or not.wore out Thanks this. -
Is this Logan out of North East Ohio? If so I've seen many of their trucks, mostly older Columbia's, have some newer cascadia, they have a lot of Conestoga trailers. Far more than I've seen of open deck. I've never spoken with any of their drivers. Can bet you you'll be hauling lots of steel

Don't just ask what the rates are like, ask what kind of nut cutting (deductions) they do to the rates to get down to the "linehaul".
I've seen some companies that pencil whipped the rates hard for ridiculous stuff, leaving a piss poor linehaul to pay off of.
They can & will nickel & dime the charge offs, grabbing a bunch of small chunks that can add up to big numbers.passingthru69, Ruthless, HighCountry and 3 others Thank this.
