I was shocked at that as I didn't really Know that was even an option. It's not a lot but it's something.

This woman driver lays out what it's like for a lot of company drivers out here.
Just look at all the crap she documents on her video. I think she finally gave up and is no longer trucking.
There's a reason why there is a 140% turnover average for most companies.

That said, to reset on the road is rare. Policy is home weekends and 4 years with the company I haven't had to reset away from home yet but have come close a few times. I know a few that have and no problems getting the pay or reimbursement
To the OP that's a good starting package for a noob, on par with what I did at a better than average training outfit. I didn't get the reset pay with them but did get an additional .10/mile for all loaded miles in the northeast, which was a lot. He could do a lot worse, that's for sure.FullMetalJacket, Chinatown and hoosiergirl Thank this. -
To me what is decent is whatever you are willing to accept and be able to live on. 36¢ pm isn't great, but it isn't bad for someone right out of the gate. The question is how long would it be before there was a raise? Getting your foot in the door and having some OTR experience is important so really the only one who can decide if it's worth it or not is your husband.

When I had 20 yrs. experience, took a job that paid .36 cpm and usually my "take home" pay was from a thousand to $1200 weekly and sometimes more. But, I have all the endorsements and used them.
As for per diem, to me, I couldn't care less. What goes in my bank account every week is what counts.
I've worked with new cdl grads that made $65K their first 12 months after the training process was complete. Lots of variables concerning pay and cpm isn't a big factor in that.
Are you in Indiana?hoosiergirl and Ryan423 Thank this. -
Another thing to consider with cpm is the speed at which the truck is governed. If you are making 36cpm but can only do 62mph you are making less money per hour than someone making 35cpm doing 65mph.
hoosiergirl Thanks this.
