Are these elog apps approved by DOT? What if your phone got shut down for low battery or you are driving in a remote area with no phone service. I never used elogs so I'm just curious how this works and I'm looking forward to install one soon in my truck.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
Have not had any issues even when phone died or no connection. Some how it syncs back up. Yes dot approved.
There are a ton of ELDs out and they all operate similarly.brar Thanks this. -

You can email or print . the one I use it has a DOT button that instructs the officer how to view Logs. The best way is to have them printed out ahead of time. So far the DOT officers have had no problem .

What the roadside inspection officer sees is completely different than what the dot/fmcsa log auditer gets to see. Just keep that in mind. -
Did the record keeping requirement for the company get extended to more than the previous 6 months?
roshea Thanks this. -
Aside from an auditor needing to see more than just the last 7 days, what is he seeing that is completely different from the roadside inspection?TallJoe, DDlighttruck and danny23tx Thank this. -
I can go thru my Logs as a driver and Fleet manager and there are no edits that are viewable. I will log in tonight and dig through this program some more . Even in DOT mode they are not viewable.
