Employment gap? Why on every application?

In addition to the federal government, insurance companies often dictate to trucking companies various hiring criterias, as noted in the past on the forum.

Insurance companies are the biggest ripoff and scam to the entire trucking industry. They make me SICK

 

Law requires it.Heck if it were up to the companies they prefere not having the long employment history.It would sure make things a lot easier and faster to get the applicants hired.

 

Companies face tremendous liability giving a heavy truck,plus cargo, to a relative stranger that could bankrupt a company with a small mistake. It pays to be careful.

 

Or out of the country trying to join a terrorist orginization.

 

Soon they will build in bathrooms!
They will put bars on the windows and get inmates to drive for free!
Funny the drivers face such scrutiny about their integrity,so these companies can screw them on their paycheck.

 

The better companies are looking for long-term workers who will drive their truck more than 3 months. 3 months is the quitting point for most new drivers.

If you have a string of jobs lasting 3 months each, it's going to be hard to get hired by a decent company.

Right now I want to buy a truck and lease on with a container group but I don't dare do it until I've been with my current employer for 6+ months.

If I apply now, I'd meet their 18 month experience but it'd show six driving jobs in 18 months.

6 x 3= 18. Lol.

 

We live in a age where it is incredibly easy to get unemployment and disability benefits. There are very few reasons why a healthy male should be out of work any longer than 4 weeks without a really good reason. This not only applies to the transportation industry. Most employers are checking this these days. I would too.
