Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

Man, when I had to run flats during the winter I was NOTHING short of a cluster flip. Wrong trailer (not my fault, wrong #s, wrong color, etc.... and had wife and kid with.) and had to deliver to a "subway" kind of thing, up by you... the dang A'frame / tripod "hopped" right as we were coming off the exit...had to pull into a "school zone" and re'chain and strap.
I'm happy with my comfort zone, too, man. You actually DO have the clue, LoL. If I have to do THAT again, I'd probably take another winter off, tho I can't afford to.
I admire you for doing this crazy ####. And yeah, admit it... it is.

(We will keep you off the short bus, LoL. I was a step away myself, in 2014...)

got my paycheck and settlement (I guess that's what you call it, explains it all) and I got $184 that was extra
i had no idea what it was, so i asked the boss.

Oh, that's a 2c a mile safety bonus. pays out end of this month for last month. (every month) SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
i had totally forgotten about that.

FNG here, just signed up on the forum. I do P&D for a small 3 state LTL in the southwest. My rant is this-why oh why are the office yahoos a bunch of inefficient idiots who will not heed the info us drivers try to give them? ####ing morons sit around yakking about ######## and playing loud music on their smartphone speakers and forget to assign a pickup that closes at 1600 until 1635 and wonder why I wasn't able to pick it up! And then there are the residential deliveries-no I am NOT stepping foot inside your house to place your 500 pound entertainment center in your living room. Or when you tell a receiver you have a delivery for them-"what is it?"-how the hell should I know, you ordered it. And the shipper who stacks 5 gallon jugs of fructose syrup on top of boxes of tea leaves-leaning squashed pallets that I have to deliver with a liftgate-fun times.

 

I scheduled a week off to move. The week before my boss asked me if I could come in a day or two that week since we were short handed. Nope,I am busy.
