I am leased to a power only company, our busy season is April to November. Dies in Jan and Feb. In the 1st quarter of every year I might run 2 weeks out of the 13. But I don't owe anyone any money either.

I usually only work from June 3rd to June 28th. Snow scares me and I figure it's better safe than sorry.

I hide in my bedroom closet the rest of the year.

Some years I would work from around march 1 to roughly 1Nov without much of a break anywhere, Savings per paycheck piled up. It's really tough to run that long continiously because it really accumulates truck repair costs in the TA, 76 etc. It always seems something breaks, then something else broke and so on until you get a few hours and get it all fixed. And call in for HOW MUCH!? WHO TOLD YOU TO FIX THIS *&^%. Sorry, this is a valid shop repair bill it has to be paid here here or company shop how do you want it. COMPANY SHOP of couse you stupid. etc Hold it right here, you do not get to tell me about being stupid. Call so and so in dipspatch and explain to reason why HE wont release ME to go to your precious company shop for these repairs. And a pause finally followed by I'll pay this and talk to so and so, you better be right about your story. Of couse Im right, anything else is fraud.

Next morning SO and SO reams me out for daring to talk to shop to repair problems with the truck. I return the favor and ream him out for failing to allow the tractor at least a few hours to swing by a company shop where possible.

    Back and forth.

And you wonder why I don't do dispatch very well. It's best just to fix the #### thing hand em the bill and hae em play it. If they don't? Find a hotel room and wait until they do pay it.

In the years where I am off Nov 1 to March 1 Unemployment usually is paid with support of the trucking company. At that pont there is no problem, stress or worries. Your job is to be physically fit and ready to go after 1March.
