Now that I got my computer cooking again I'm going to start LOL. They came this morning and rigged up the cable and internet so I have my computer back and am done using the phone. My fingers are to stubby for the telephone.

 

That's awesome... hope you stick to it~ I hear ya, on the phone thing. I have sausage hands, too! LoL

i back more now than I did in food service. (although with a pup it's not as hard with less #### to hit in the parking lot). I back up all night long building sets. On the plus side, food service is awesome practice.

 

soooooooooo, the main good dispatcher is on vacation. WE all know what that means.

Leave hub, go to terminal, dispatcher tells me, drop the loaded, pick up empties go back to the other hub. Ok, no big deal.

get there, drop the empties, build my new set of empties, call the stupid automated thing (1985 called, they want their high technology application back). and it says "your next dispatch assignment is trailer 123456.

WHAT?????????? I mean , who cares a trailer is a trailer, but my set is built.

Call dispatch. Ummmm, dispatcher A told me to bring back empties and now stupid program wants me to bring back a loaded. Which is it?

ohhhhh, sorry, just changed it, didn't call you, bring back the loaded.

Fine, I want to be paid for an additional drop and hook, my set is already built.

yes, yes, we'll do that. (they better, we'll see)

the thing that made me really grumpy is twofold. One, i lost my good dolly. And two now some lazy useless driver (that would be all of them) who is almost certainly hourly next to this yard gets a free built set.

 

Hahaha! Sometimes I "don't" envy you guys!!! I'm only working a bit this weekend, because the pavers aren't off on Monday, either...LoL. There's a LOT of this .... i'm hearing/reading already on here. Some O/O's are losing loads over idiocity, because "everyone" wants a 4day weekend..... sheesh!

 

Not really a rant, but just wanted to drop by and say hey. New account here and loving the forum so far!
