NEW RAND MCNALLY 740 COMING IN MAY

    Is anyone having problems with the split screen junction view? I am on the 4th unit, exchanged several times at the advice of RM tech support. Tech support has walked me through the hidden menu to perform factory resets and verifying proper settings. At this time I find it hard to believe that 4 units in 30 days are faulty. Tech support finally put me through to the software department and they have emailed the developer with the issues. Still waiting to hear back.

    So.... anybody else happen to notice the split screen junction view not working properly??

    Well the "secret" screen for factory reset does not factory reset it...

    If you got two units that do the same thing, then it would lead to software, so why exchange a 3rd and 4th time?

    I had this on my Pre-OD8 Pro, but it uses the same software. This happened last weekend. I am glad that someone else saw it....

    Let me ask,,,If you are in a straight Point to Point route do they work? Do they work if you have any stops added?

    Tech support suggested the exchanges because I was still within my 30 day return policy at Love's. I knew better but I figured if I'm to get anywhere with RM, I'll do as they ask. I figured a software issue after strike 2.

    I tried running routes several ways. Each unit seemed to be hit and miss. One trip the junction view would pop up for an exit and when returning it would not.

    The unit I currently have has not popped up at all.

    I didn't figure the "secret" menu reset would squat because when I turned it back on, all my saved info was still there.

    As of 45 minute call to the software division today, they finally think there might be an issue and are supposed to run some tests in the development department. Who knows. Of course being a holiday weekend, Wednesday or Thursday is the earliest I expect to hear back from them.

    Hopefully a few others see this post and chime in.

    Are you still having issues with yours?

    I figured out the issue in ten minutes. You can on the main map screen go to bottom left and click on the route symbol. Then click on route settings. Go down to JV and turn off and then set back to distance. It should work. But each time you turn off you have to do this. Or connect to computer and then find it as a drive. Go to .navi/user and delete the user.ini file. Disconnect and turn on. The file will rebuild. JV should work now. I tested last night and this seems a quick fix. I will be testing today.

    Now that you found the support threat don't be a stranger. Lol

    Btw I reported this to the developer last night and he is looking also at it. But it seems a setting that turns off the JV when it boots up. So an easy fix

    I believe I turned off all settings pertaining to JV and turned back on with one of the previous units. I'll try it with this one.

    On the road now, gave it a try. I will keep you know if it works.

    Just finished my run, I followed your directions. Still no go. Frustrating.

    The OD 8 pro runs the same software. It works on mine. Try deleting the .navi/user/user.ini file

    I ran 120 miles in point to point and via with JV working.
