Traffic don't look to bad for that stretch of road. Give it a couple of hours.

It was getting thick about this time. Lots of O'Hara traffic. Done for today. Can't make it to the yard so plaza it is

WhooHoo. Just got the call from dispatch. Looks like I am a local driver today. Load is pushed back so no schedule/70 pressure on this load. This load requires use of an off site scale a couple of miles away. It closes at 5 so I was going to have to go 20 miles to a truck stop and come back for the paperwork. This way I can drag it 4 miles to the terminal and weigh it in the morning.

Gotta love it when things work out; especially the "recovery week" after a long, party weekend..(for most, anyway. I had a couple loads, myself.)
Enjoy your time, man. You earned it.

If you sit for 24 hours for a reason you get 160 a day for that layover? That's more than double what I get.

Don't even have to sit for 24 hours. Layover starts after 14 hours and pays the hourly rate up to 10 hours where the 14 hour off starts again. If I get a large deliver window it pays to run hard and sit close to the plant for a few hours of layover.[/QUOTE]

Because of what I ran the first part of the week I will be close on my 70. Don't pick up any rollover hours until Sunday midnight. I used 2 hours of on duty and driving time today.
