I only fully understand cuz I came from the warehouse. But there are a lot of moving parts and a lot to the system. If you ever get the opportunity, go check it out!

Ive been to our warehouse in Pittsburgh several times, but never when it was operating. Some of our guys have been though, your warehouse though has a pre sorter and ours doesn't they made them differently. I guess they said the days of the pre sort machine are over.

Aberdeen, MD is manual pull no anything, there trailers are all pallet loaded, god is that hard, your 10 stops in and still hanging off the back of the trailer.

Yup. We've got the pre sorter which is super cool. As well as the cranes which are neat as well. Not very reliable any more though. From what I understand they don't have any one that makes part for them or can fix them anymore either. I have no idea how true that is though. Springfield is pretty much obsolete. I kind of wonder how much longer this DC will be around.

I choose not to post them on this forum, but I have pictures of the manual loaded trailers from Aberdeen ha-ha. At the end of the day the trailer is an absolute mess there's pallets and shrink wrap and load bars and that warehouse uses those stupid insulated blankets which is an absolute waste.

I remember the one Friday in Newark, Delaware, we were loaded 700+ cases all pallet loaded, I think like 2 pallets in the freezer and 10 in the back. First stop was a BBQ joint right near the PFG warehouse in Delware open the back doors not a centimeter to spare floor to ceiling. The guy I was with was very new, I pulled the ramp out half way and stood on it and unloaded like that.

He went "Wow that's a cool trick I didn't know you could do that."

Bob Dobalina and ZachG91 Thank this.

    Aberdeen,
    Taunton,
    Miami
    Plant City
all manual pull. Plant City has a separate freezer building. The freezer is loaded and then the trailers are shuttled across the street to the other warehouse where the rest of the stuff is loaded.

I know Atlanta is too, but they have the capability to go automated if need be from what I understand. Some kind of hybrid warehouse.
I can't remember which it is I think GR has a freezer facility that operates the same. They were talking about doing something similar with Springfield several years ago when we were shipping 80,000+ cases each shift. But then imperial happened.
