We only get layover pay after 24 hours and it's not much, I always get it after 18 hours normally and the boss doesn't say nothing. I been at home yesterday and today cause my acid compartment doesn't unload until 8am in the morning, my boss called and said he gave me 2 days of layover pay even though I'm at the house. It's not a lot of money but I'm thankful to atleast get it. I'm lucky to have a driver manager like I got also. Some drivers I talk to here at my company have to fight for layover pay and stuff they are deserved. I never had that problem. Anyways I will start off the morning in the pickle suit, I hope it's still cool outside at 8am

It's first come first served, and its Schneider, Highway Transport, Quality, Superior, and a smaller outfit out of Indiana all loading/unloading out of the same spot. Loading has never taken more than 1.5 hours start to finish and usually its closer to 45 minutes, but unloading is a waiting game. Today was 4 hours. Two trucks in front of me when I get there and then a shift change so I had to wait for that. The nice thing is its all no touch so I just sit there and take a nap or watch a movie and get paid demurge.

So $24,000 later, I finally got my truck back after a 5 week overhaul. It's nice to be back in my truck and it's running better then ever. First load after the holiday and customer had no room. A total of 10 hours dmrg + layover pay, it adds up.

    G13Tomcat and scythe08 Thank this.

Doubt I would still be driving if I had to wear that thing with much regularity. In 10 years I can count the number of times I put it on with 1 hand.

In over a year I've wore it only 3 times thankfully, once I really didn't need but I was super brand new.. the guy their told me at the end I was only person he ever saw wear it for that. Lol.. I said yea I'm just getting practice and lowered my head and drove off haha.. I got to the TW in Charlotte after unloading and waited for a hour to get an assignment. Didn't get nothing so I went to the operation center, parked and got in my car and now I'm sitting on my front porch. I was originally scheduled off sat an sunday but had chosen to work if could due to me being off wed and Thursday cause of my last compartment in trailer I couldn't unload till today. I could've waited and got a job but oh well porch work is really nice right now :) might need to borrow money next week from ya rich guys tho

I Do a fair bit of pump work........ my cruise sometimes screwes up.... it's like it can't keep the rpm steady. And the motor starts chasing itself.... it's done it hundreds of times. It will finally kick off the cruise and you can't reset it.......

it's never done it while moving only on pto work.....I've spent multiple hundreds trying to figure it out ...

Sometimes the easiest fixes are the best.
