And? As its been pointed out many times on here, ELDs are merely invasive enforcement of existing rules. They don't matter if you don't cheat. In the case of bull haulers, that's exactly what's going on so their real issue is with HOS.

UPS isn't seeking a wholesale exception from HOS, just technical aspects. Such as having to, under the mandate, change duty status twice for every yard move, potentially up to twenty times an hour. They have non HOS-regulated personal who move the trucks in the yard, for which there's no current allowance for with ELD. And they can't comply fully with all aspects of the mandate and their Teamsters contract at the same time. They're not trying to skirt rules, its just going to be a giant cluster#### for them

Falling 20miles short of getting to the house is ABSURD. Currently not working and trying to obtain my own truck. I hope their is a driver shortage to say the least. Freight will skyrocket and so will everything in the stores. It's bad enough some of these companies have a driver facing camera, though I approve outward facing cameras. They're trying to set a regulated speed on trucks now too. Quite sad...

Freight will not sky rocket and being stopped 20 miles from home will be rare.

I don't expect any real impact other than, on occasion, parking at a crappy spot instead of making it to a preferred stop like i sometimes do now.

Many companies and drivers have already adjusted fine, no reason the rest of us won't do the same.

I have heard "it will drive the rates up" about just about everything under the sun. And you know what? Rates were higher compared the cost of owning a truck some 40 years ago. The "race to the bottom", continues and ELDs certainly aren't going to stop "the race".

Because where I live their are really no places to park the truck. I have one near my uncles, but that's up near the Speedway. Then again, he drives a truck. My family works and are not all that close, meaning no favors. Besides, I have a 50 thousand dollar car at home I like to drive and a command center where I can "sarcastically speaking" be a keyboard warrior, run NASA and the Air Force off it. I like to eat home cooked meals rather I make it my self or not. I like sleeping in my own bed despite sleeping like a babe in the truck.

I like to get up, go #### or piss in my own toilet. Shower in my own shower. If you wanna stay in your truck an hour or two out from the house taking a 10 or 34 hour reset, go right ahead. More power to ya.

I'm just saying the argument of having to shut down 20 miles from home and having to stay in the truck is stupid. Have someone come get you and deal with the truck the next day
