Look at your recap last 8 days worked. That is the hours you get back after midnight tonight on your 8th day. Today's hours expire at 3.5 hours and you sit. Whatever you worked 8 days ago you get back after midnight tonight. Go to bed get up at 1 am and count your availible hours against the 70 worked in the last 8 days rule.

How far away is the Petro? After you get empty, if you can, PC it to the Petro.

That would depend on whether his company gives him the option of personal conveyance. For example, company drivers at Swift don't have that option but owner operators do.

He won't need to. If he's logging sleeper berth for the 8hrs he's waiting to drop this load, drives 30 minutes to the Petro, then 2hrs off duty, he'll have 10.5/13.5 available.

Bean Jr. and Lepton1 Thank this.

His question was regarding the hours he gets back after a split 8, not how many hours he gets back from recap. He's just trying to roll to a local truck stop after his customer visit.

Bean Jr. and x1Heavy Thank this.

Yep, that's the completed (and dreaded) 8/2 split.

Personal conveyance should take care of that problem. Or else run off log to the truckstop and take the 34 reset. Start over with a fresh rested 70 hours to begin the new work week.

I play with it as much as I can, the fear of the unknown is mostly gone now.

I have done it. Just don't like it if I know I have to run a full, hard shift after the two.

Right, which is what bit me in the arse today. But I'm sitting here in a steakhouse enjoying a nice tall cold iced tea with my baked sweet potato, about to head back to ths truck to take a nap and prepare to run until 0430, sleep until early afternoon, get a haircut, and roll on home.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
