Marion County firefighters were dispatched at 12:24 p.m. The accident was on the southbound side near Micanopy.

At the scene, a sound man for the band, Adrenaline Mob, said the metal group was traveling in the RV and a van that was pulling a covered trailer.

A total of nine people were in the vehicles. One died, six were taken to area hospitals, and the other two declined medical treatment. The majority of those injured were listed in serious condition and one was in critical condition as of late Friday night. Those injured were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital and North Florida Regional Medical Center.

That's a small shoulder. Lay good money they weren't completely off the road.

I dunno, but those skid marks put the semi almost completely on the shoulder at impact

I think the marks you are looking at appears to be the skipping of the trailer tandems. There's another pic showing possibly where the impact took place with skid marks still in the right lane.

There's something about that stretch of I-75 between the Florida's Turnpike junction and Alachua that makes people wreck (typically with fatalities).

Yep, heavy tourist traffic that drives all bunched up. I hate Florida.
