In light of mounting confusion, complications and questions, Rep. Brian Babin, R-Texas, introduced a bill in the House of Representatives on Tuesday that would delay the electronic logging mandate for two years.

The bill, HR3282, is called the ELD Extension Act of 2017. Rest of article at:Land Line Magazine

Ok now people. Time to put up or shut up. Contact your Congressional Representative today. Not sure who to contact? Enter your zip code here and find out:

Tell them to support the bill, # HR3282. This gives us 2 years to work on getting the ELD mandate repealed.

I question what it to be gained by a delay, we've all known it was coming and there are a lot of more important things for congress to address for us, like CARB.

ELD's are great. No more cheating by bad hombres means more freight and higher rates for the rest of us.

ELDs will force compliance with HOS leading to reduced shipping capacity. The law of supply and demand will force rates higher. Take an Economics class. The more companies that are forced to comply with HOS the better it will be for those already using ELDs.

Either way, the "l told you so," will be monumental.

The law of unintended consequences won't be denied anymore than the other 'rules' of human endeavors.

Glad that I'm easily amused and not so easily angered.
