Excessive oil passing into air tanks and purging out air dyer, HELP!

    Looks ok. I would pull the intake hose off at both ends and double check the fittings and where they thread into to make sure the ports are not blocked by something, especially the fitting in the intake manifold.

    The black hose on top would be your intake. The braided hose is your outlet to the air dryer

    Looks like we typed at the same time heavyd.

    The only other thing is maybe the oil drain hole is blocked in the rear of the front cover housing and the compressor is being flooded internally with oil.

    can you please explain what tests i can do and what i should look for? Please be very specific and use simple terms as i am not very mechanically bright. Also can i put a tiny air filter on the end of the black intake line and plug off the other end at the intake?...as a test? Did i accidentally plug any other ports that i should have open? I believe i copied the original compressors setup identically

    You could try the filter idea on the inlet hose. My air compressor is naturally aspirated. I had a filter on it initially but then moved my pick up location to the air cleaner tube close to the actual air filter. You're sure thats the air pick up? It seems awefully small? Mine is well over an inch inside diameter. You'll have to check with bendix. They used to have a really good tech line you could phone for info. I would try it in any event..

    sorry to sound like a simpleton, but are you suggesting I block off the intake ... find a miniture air filter (they do make them for valve covers i believe... as a test attach it to the air compressor somehow (with intake side blocked off). Or are you saying block off intake, and reroute the line to.... where exactly. be very specific what should i look for.

    i'm confused did you drill a hole and plumb in it? did you attach it somewhere else to a existing line? Yes if the tube is too small, i will have that oil blowby problem (I have spoken extensively to Bendix support and reviewed their troubleshooting manual). I have a medium duty truck C7 CAT motor. Id say the inner diameter of the tube is no bigger than my pinky (definitely not a inch!....RESTRICTED?)

    At first l just clamped a k&n type filter on the line like you are thinking. After l ran it for a week and saw how dirty it got l teed it into the tube that runs to the air filter housing. Its been like that for 5 years or so now. I checked with the tech line and they said to put it as close to the filter housing as practical. He told me that model of compressor was made that way because they were having issues with the emission engines putting soot into the compressor's and causing issues. I don't think this will cure your issues but it may help you narrow it down. Dont be surprised when you can hear the compressor picking up air. And dont forget to block off the old hole in the intake manifold.

    "l teed it into the tube that runs to the air filter housing." isnt that a hard plastic tube like 6-8 inches inner diameter? wouldn't I need to drill a hole into it and plumb in a outlet to connect the tube to? Sorry what am i missing? Is there already a rubber line coming out of it that i can tie into? Finally, if i can reroute this, should i put a larger line to it and replace the current one?

    sorry i just dont want to start drilling holes in the plastic housing after the air filter if there is a easier way you are eluding to
