I have some questions that I want to ask an O/O that has their own authority. If you are up to the challenge I can post my questions here or I can e-mail them to you, how ever you prefer. I am considering buy my own truck and flatbed and need as much info as possible. Thank you in advance...

    1. Do I set my own rates if I have my own authority? If so, how do I calculate it?

    2. Sometimes I will run equipment for local farmers, how do I set an hourly rate? Or, what would be a good hourly rate?

    3. If I set my own rates, do I also have to figure out the FSC?

I will start with these and as I think of more I will ask.

    Thanks

I think what you need to figure is $2/minute, so $120 per hour if you plan on making good money. That figures surcharge and all, i based it from running a mile per minute and getting $2 per mile.

Is that across the board? Meaning if i'm being paid mileage or hourly, its either $2 per mile or $2 per minutes.

Do you use a broker or do you have your own accounts or both?

I really appreicate the info, you guys have been alot of help...
