My loads this week so far. I'm used to 1500 mile plus runs and this unloading and reloading everyday is too much like work. Back into my oversize grove next week. Monday I pick up a 9' wide 63' long trailer then Friday 16' wide 71' long load.

Well I guess I'm a dumb rookie. I've seen other guys do it this way, and have done it this way before. I've had issues with using just straps so have gradually moved to doing it this way.
I kinda can't wrap my head around it but I've been told the trailer can still roll front to back.
So while I don't want to buy and carry wheel straps, I also don't really want to throw two chains and 4 straps at each corner, but I may have to. I did grab a couple more 1" straps, maybe do the chains and 4 1" straps at the corners. I'd rather carry those than wheel straps.
I should have had the binders on the back trailer on the back side. If I had kept the front chain short out to a stake pocket, it would've had more out pressure and maybe wouldn't have rolled forward too.

I did those three the exact same way as pictured.

I hauled a load of trailers like in your top pic this winter. I hated every minute of it.

Carry some short 2x4 or wedges and some duplex nails. Put them down on both sides of the tires and you can control a lot of the dancing back and forth.

Now why didn't I think of that. I've got duplex nails on board already. Arguably might not be able to get to a nailing strip. I remember someone else carried screws and a cordless drill

Yeah, I carry a cordless drill and screws. Also carry a cordless saw.

Like Red said...If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
