O'Reilly Auto Parts Delivery/Route driver

Man, must be more Daywalkers around here than I suspected. Night time's my thing so I think should be okay with my pick of the crop.

 

That's why I'm finding it hard to really nail down anything at this point. My current job has its bad points. But until something serious enough occurs to where I have to make a "desperation bounce", I'm staying put.
As far as not moving and just commuting out to these jobs, the places I'm applying to are pulling that "domicile" garbage saying that "You're only getting the job if you're willing to relocate".
Small town life is nice, but then like I've mentioned in other posts, we're limited to strict, agriculture related hauling around here. Plenty of other trucks do business here, but of you want to get on with them, you have to move out to them.

 

I escaped CA after my dad was pressuring me to leave the house.(Think that speech by Chong's dad in "Up in Smoke") So no family or anything like that for me. As for where I'm living right now and if I picture myself being here 5-20 years from now, possibly not. I eventually want to venture away from trucking and the technical training and trade unions are all located in much larger areas. So yeah, I'm definitely bouncing from here once I've got my sights set on a for sure place to go next.
The "trial run" would be great if I could find a way to make it work. Figure a two week notice or leave of absence for a month to make sure it all goes well.

Big thing that's keeping me off of it is my preference for Weds/Thurs off. Keeping after these other, LTL outfits to see if they'll have me.

 

I'll just stay at it until something a little better pops up. Phoenix might be better, but I'm trying to stay away from other Californians. (No disrespect)
If there is one good thing about the fringe lands of eastern NM/west TX, it's that I don't run into too many of them out here.
