    That was back when 300 hp was considered powerful for an OTR truck. We had about 260 IIRC.

    You just need to have it in the right size machine ;)

    Hell, my 6.7 Cummins would probably be "gutless" too if it where in a 900 KW. :laughing6:

    No I've seen them in little service trucks, 613 scrapers, generators and many other things. Your 6.7 would put them to shame. Throw away Cat wasn't a term of endearment.

    I'm hearing ya man. Just Slamming doors was getting to me before I was put off for a spell. The only enjoyable part is the driving. I do miss the challenge of trains

    When i worked for the railroad i heard that term often "throw away Cat" and it was true, 671 detroit ruled back then.
    The 3208 did do well in boat applications at the 375 HP but when they turned it up to 425 HP it didn't do well.

    Yep. Bad head, hole in the block and a bad transmission. It had direct but no overdrive.
