Well heres my update on the new bendix system in the 2018 after 1 day....The lane mitigation thing is absolutely no big deal, and when I drifted into other lane (on purpose as of course i had to play with the new toy) the camera didn't come on. Just makes a lil rumble strio sound, and goes right back off. Tried it couple times just to test the camera and it never red lighted.
The following distance thing is basically the same thats in all the previous autos. Again not a big deal, and can be helpful approaching another car and able to see how fast they are going so you can decide pretty early to move out and get around them.
Now, for the speed limit radar thingy. Where do i even start, cuz this thing is definitely a pain in the fn a ss and if I receive messages on qualcom about it then it could be a hard thing to continue to deal with on a daily basis. So heres how it works, driving down the road and approach a speed limit sign lets say its a 60mph zone. If you're doing 64 and under the only thing that happens is it pops up on that screen (pic i showed yday) sayin 60mph zone. If going 65-69 it will beep at you 1 time then stop (a quiet beep) and reads "overspeed" on the display. If you're going 70+(10mph over) it beeps at you 1 time, displays "overspeed" on the display, and it will fn throttle you down to 69mph...So that's the basic principle of the system. Now here come my biggest complaints.

    1. 1st off that system in bigger cities like Chicago this morning is ignorant. Im sorry but im not driving 55mph on 294 while the flow of traffic is 60mph plus. Me doing 55mph is a safety hazard as all you're doing is impeding traffic.
    2. It picks up EVERY speed limit sign. So for example coming down 65South where there is a ton on construction, but those speed limits are only im effect when lights are flashing, it doesnt recognize that. So doing 70mph come into a non active 55mph construction zone, and boom your throttled back for no reason. Constant fn annoyance across Indiana today.
    3. Did you know there is supposedly a 25mph zone on I90 heading to 290 in Chicago? No, I didnt either but according to the random "25mph zone" that popped up and throttled me back on bendix there is.
    4. Twice I put my signal on to move lanes to the left, and the sound for the lane mitigation popped up like I wasnt purposefully switching lanes.

So with that said nothing was a major issue and really easy to ignore. However if there are any messages or repercussions because of this system then thats when its going to become an issue. Its not perfect, and is wrong ALOT, so how can anything be said to us? My overall feeling is don't put something in my truck that is hauling 45k lbs of beer etc on any given day, that is going to touch my brakes unless the #### thing is perfect. If this system hasnt been tested and shown the ablilty to be 99.999% accurate it shouldnt be on the trucks, because while today's f ups were minor, when is the major f up going to occur, and whos life is it going to take?

Yeah, there's definitely those of us who are curious. I'm sittin here in Richfield now with a broke truck. A 460xx series. I really want a new truck but that speed thing scares me a little bit. If you ain't maintaining 60 coming around 294, well then, you're the hazard. God how I hate 294, it just puts me in a bad flippin mood on top of a broke truck. Thank God my AC is working though my inverter is on the fritz.

I know, we all have those days but mine are speshul. Lolz,,,

Ya thats basically why I told Opie to get me a new truck and out of the 46. 54 hours being down this month was to much. Still ran good miles but still I dont like sitting around. Like i said its all on Millis on how they handle this speed thing. I want to give them the benefit of doubt as they have earned it, but we shall see. If i get a message daily bout it and thats it then I can delete that pretty quick lol. I will say the truck is super fn nice. Seat is comfy as hell. There is 1 new truck that was sitting in BRFwhen i was there yday.

Too much sitting around,,,,,,, I think too much when I'm sitting and that's dangerous. William was out this week and what I presume a newbie, Jake, was my dispatcher. I gotta hand it to Jake, he was cool as could be. Worked his ### off to get me out of Shaw Ringgold with the limited hours I had. He did it.

    Oh well,
    Here I sit
    All broken hearted
    Came to ####
    And only pharted

Yep, he started last week at the NC/VA location. He loves it so far and is excited to get out on the road.

Thanks @keen98 I was hoping you'd post an update. So, from what you're saying, our trucks will throttle down in non-active school zones, including those that are on open-access 65mph highways with a 35mph school zone when it isn't during school hours. Yeah, that sounds friggin awesome. And incredibly unsafe.

In the winter time, that's going to be really hard to deal with, sliding, fish tailing, or even jack knifing through no real fault of your own..

My husband still has a 2015, but is worried about getting a newer truck since they are taking the driving decisions out of the drivers hands. He wouldn't mind a 2017 though, since they don't have that system yet.

Ya I'm not even sure it hits the brakes when over speed. I think it just kicks you up to neutral immediately, but I am not positive. I was focusing on other things yday about it and today it def didnt seem like it hit my brakes. But my truck didnt like the 40mph construction zones in PA that aren't active today while i was doing 70 lol. Idk i definitely dont like it, but again its how Millis handles it. Im yet to get a message bout my speed so we shall see. As for the winter time being an issue, well technically if roads are ice, snow, etc you prob shouldnt be doing over the speed limit anyway so it shouldnt effect us in that situation.

Well I think I've figured out the 25mph zone on i90 in Chicago the other day....the #### thing sometimes picks up on ramp speed limit signs cuz twice today on i80 in PA it picked up a 35mph zone and slowed me down......but at least the lane mitigation wasnt yelling at me the entire time I was driving thru the tiny ### streets of New Jersey...
