But look at the upside. Now that they have bought Interstate maybe you can get one of those fancy Navistar Lonestars to drive around in....

Getting paid. 52 cpm would be great if you could get 2800 miles and up per week. But I'm sure it will stay the same as 2 heartland drivers explained in the past. 1800 miles p/wk. Pick up long loads but only able to get your minimum miles per day of of the load before it's relayed continuously to its destination. Stop by terminals to fuel up if your near one. When they told me all that. I said no wonder your asking mme about my company.

To me, people saying a company is GREAT because they are making 50 cents a mile-3000 miles a week & 5 days off a month, shows you how bad the industry is.
In OTR there's only degrees of bad. You can make 65k per year they say, but how many days without a day off & how many hours will it take per week to get that money.
I left IDC last Sept after Heartland moved in. I was making after everything included, $26,918 after 6mos & getting 4- 5 days off per month working easily 70hr weeks.
I made after all was said & done, $17.95 per hr. My yearly avg would of been above regional avg of $44,420 at $53,800 & granted I probably would of earned more driving dry van with less waiting. But it still would of been no more then $19-$20 per hr.
The job I obtained recently to drive local after many interviews, road tests, relieving my bladder etc...? I drive 350 miles a day in a Pete daycab for no more then 50hrs a WK & the salary is $65K.. I can work any shift because it is all no-touch drop & hook.
Where I live local jobs are abundant but prone to slow downs so I had to be careful. I like driving regional but can no longer justify the hours at 54.years of age to make a decent living. Even a mediocre class A driving job here pays $20 per hr & I was making $17.95 regional LOL.
In OTR there's only degrees of bad. The only solution is hourly pay or salaries. Piece rate is a screw job when production is limited & pay rates don't even keep up with the COL
