Well, we got an early start this morning to get a late brokered load delivered A.S.A.P. Got there less than 2 hours late, then, they forgot about us. 4 hrs later, I wrangled a dock worker and asked him WTH? He said, "oh my goodness. You have the "x" load? CRAP!!! Get in that dock! I'm so sorry. We'll get you unloaded right now!"

And, they did. Then, drove from Lexington, SC to Augusta, Ga to pick up a load back to Mobile, Al. Then, got here with minutes to spare on my 14 hr clock(whew). Gotta scale in the morning, then Ala freakin' Bama bound to drop and hook to a load going just outside of Detroit.

    More later.

They have a lot of trailers at Sunbeam in Waynesboro, Ms. The equipment looks well maintained, and I see them a lot. Best of luck to you.

689 miles today by our own choice. Dispatcher said we could take a night at home tonight, but we decided to drop, hook and boogie. So, we made it up to the Love's in Clanton, AL for an overdue shower. I'm planning our route now. We are going to get as close as possible tomorrow, reset on Monday, the deliver first thing on Tuesday and by then we should know where we are going next.

More as I get it or get there.

    Boo on me!!!

I failed to route plan correctly, so we got caught in the I-71 bridge to Cincinnati fiasco. 2 hours stuck in traffic. And, we only got to Dayton.
We are still good, tho. 3.5 hours to Taylor, MI for delivery on Tuesday. BOL has an 8am to 2pm delivery window. But, I'll bet dispatch will have an appointment time for us when we talk tomorrow. We'll see.

Peace and safe miles. More later.

Are you at Love's or that noisy crappy Flying J?
That Flying J at exit 32 in MI is pay to park and not the greatest. Don't forget SB I-75 is closed from exit 37-45.

We are at the Love's at exit 51 off I-75 in Dayton. Hardee's makes really good burgers for a fast food joint, and we have been tin canning it all week to save some money until the miles and money start flowing. I'm really liking this glider Freightliner. Good power and economy. Abilene's trucks are "nicer", as in they have more amenities. These trucks are bottom end. Power doors and locks, fridge with small freezer. But, no front curtain, no inverters, etc.

Had a newby Roehl driver back into us this morning, but did very little damage, luckily. Had to do some training, needless to say. He has only been solo for 2 weeks, and was parking for his home time. Felt sorry for him. Scuffed my headlight lense and scratched my bumper, so, I had to get his info and send pics to my safety guy. Damage is very minor. I just didn't want to be blamed for it. Anal, I guess.

I saw where I-75 was closed in Michigan. Luckily, we'll cut over to US 14 (I think) up to Taylor. Then back down to Oregon, Oh to grab another load headed to Rock Hill, SC. Nice start to the week, to say the least. Funny how a comfortable company makes this life so much easier. The small stuff is so much easier to not sweat over, and I'm more mindful of operations with less stress. Lord, I pray this is the norm.

When I checked in with my dispatcher this morning, he was surprised to learn that we had gotten so far. LOL. Then, he praised us, Dawn (the wife) mainly, for "the best trip pack they have gotten from a first week out driver/crew in a long time." Only issue was we put the purchase receipts for the CAT Scales, when they wanted one of the yellow copies. No biggie, as we were not told that little factoid. (Both myself and Dawn attended orientation) The powers that be were just happy that we didn't need further training on the paperwork. Gold star for us!!!!

Our 34 ends at 0300. So, :occasion5: for now. Couple of things to wrap up, what's for dinner mainly, then off to bed.

    :cya:
