What truck stops to avoid?

I'll also add the Pilot in Denver, CO on Steele St. to the list. Fuel and go is generally OK if you hit it when there's no line. However you are putting your bumper at serious risk by parking overnight. Lots of minor damage at that one.

 

The food isn't bad though

 

Stay in your truck and lock the door, and none of them are bad.
Loves tend to be the cleanest.
TA's tend to be the dirtiest, if that matters.
NEVER eat at a truck stop restaurant.
Tried the Iron Skillet a couple times. Vomited both times.

 

The North American in Fontana CA is my least favorite out there,

The TA in Rockwall TX , I love everything around it , In n Out Burger, Lubys, Olive Garden....but the lot is tiny and ALWAYS full , and the bathrooms are a FEMA worthy disaster area , they use it as a bus stop for busses coming into and out of Mexico .

Flying J in Texarkana , always a cluster ####. What kills me about this one is the drama always going on out front between drivers, always a #### argument or heated conversation on the front porch of this one , and a lot of abandoned SRT trucks , and SRT drivers who park here when their main Terminal is literally right across the street, but no the park here and abandon their trucks and trailers here.

Carneys Point NJ.........shouldn't need to say more

 

The TA in Morgantown WV, another sh1t show, and they have a strip club steps off the back lot , always a classy crowd

 

Yeah, add that one to my list , forgot that one . They have a "hotel " at that one as well, bunch of rooms upstairs with spring beds and console tvs

 

How is the Flying J in Denver?

 

Small and looks like an adventure to try to find a spot there after 1600hrs

 

That's what I figured, just like the J in SLC just west of I-15 on I-80. You'd think decent sized cities like this would have bigger truck stops.

 

Any truck stop that is full of flatbeds,log trucks,
Container trucks, wood chippers,rock haulers and
A bunch of owner/operators.

Usually the trashiest truck stops on the road.
