Interesting. Didn't know that about the minimizer. I appreciate all the good info here. Sounds like I need to take a day and just go seat shopping.

Just look at pictures of both. I've never seen a Minimizer up close but it looks exactly like my ISRI. Not sure if you are aware but the ISRI has a lot of adjustment. What I liked the most was the seat back not only did it hinge at the bottom but at the shoulders as well. So if you sat in it and felt "crowded" it may have been that upper adjustment.
The Mid-America truck show was where I tried them all.LoJackDatHo Thanks this. -

If you don't mind me asking which KW dealer was that at?

If you can manage it, get to one of the big truck shows (Louisville, Dallas) and try them all. I did that and was surprised at how many I didn't like. As in just about all of them. There was one National model I liked, can't remember which one. I was also encouraged, by someone I trust, to find a Prime Seating dealer and try one of those. Turns out that's what I liked the best. Unfortunately, seat buying has been low on the priority list so I haven't bought one yet and cannot speak to the longer term use and fit. When the time comes, that's what I'm getting. Probably the model 600. About $1,100 last I saw, and has all the bells and whistles.

Problem is, seats are like mattresses. You can lay on every mattress in the showroom, pick your favorite most comfy one, pay several weeks of hard earned pay, an arm, a leg, and your firstborn, haul it home and hate it within a week. A few seconds in a truck seat does not reflect how comfy it will be after an 800 mile day. There is no sure fire way of knowing. Just gotta do your best at choosing.
I chose the Legacy because I drove a company truck that had one and I really liked it after a long day. There may be another seat I might like even better, but I knew I liked this one so I never even looked at anything else.whoopNride, 207nomad, Grubby and 2 others Thank this. -
Sat in a legacy silver today, felt more comfortable than the wide ride 2 I sat in. Legacy Seamed to be more supportive for my body type. The minimizer seat cushion was very firm, almost like sitting on concrete. Also sat in a atlas II. So far the Legacy Silver was the most comfortable of those. And not that this matters, but the Wife also said the same thing. Still want to try a Grammar and a ISRI though. I know that ISRI makes the minimizer, but wondering if they are exactly the same or if the seat cushion is better. Hopefully I can find some to try out. -
I bought the Minimizer seat and have no regrets. It started off feeling very firm compared to my old Seats Inc. cheapie that I bought a year ago but after a couple of adjustment and break in, I can tell how much better I feel after a long day in the seat. Also, I think the version with the cooling fans are a must. I pull flatbed and get all hot and it feels great to have that cool breeze flowing.
Yes, $2000 is a lot for a seat but we spend so much time in one that if you break it down per day, it's really nothing. When I worked on my feet all day in my previous career, I could care less how much my shoes cost as long as they provided great support and wouldn't hesitate to spend $200+ on a pair. I feel the same way about seats
