i want this truck.....also,are those aluminum split rims on the front?

    Ugh. You will want to put that thing on airride in order to cruise like you think.

    It's a nice old truck. But only for those of us who recall them. The one saving grace it has that 13 speed, that will help work around the limitations of that old 350.

    Yes,those are tube tires front and back.Look like 10.00-22's.Not split rims,but they have a lock ring.Torture bar suspension,too.Back then,most of the trucks on the road were set up like this one,big boy in its day..Decent price,if that's what you're looking for.

    Ristow? You feeling ok? Last year, I drove a yard horse for a cranberry marsh exactly like this. Has time faded the memory a bit? Well, it really was miserable, just shuttling trailers. Armstrong steering, cab shook, doors wouldn't close. Those are 22" split rims ( I believe any rim with a lock ring is considered split rim) but easy enough to switch to 10 hole tubeless. For the price in parts alone, is worth it, but again, I think you may have forgotten how miserable these trucks really were. Also, never heard of a K100 Peterbilt Freightliner.

    i've been driving a 1991 freightliner fla cabover for over 2 years now. i love it. rides like a cream puff too. and thats a fleet spec'd....FREIGHTLINER! EEW!! i'm a KW guy down to the marrow. altho,my fav cabover is the FL Powerliner of the 70's. followed by the Ford CL9000. but a K100 is just a cool nice coe.

    obviously i'd deal with the suspension when i stretched it. and power steering would be added too. its not like i'd update the motor and leave the rest in the dark ages.

    once i get my own shop put up i [plan on getting somwething like the above,put a 12 or 14L 60 series mill,and update the rest,for a modern handling useable classic.

    i told my dad to put a 12L detroit 60 in the '81 359 he restored. had he done that he woulda had an easy 50K + valued truck.

    That's cool, I was just kidding. The K100 was probably the nicest of the bunch. Most of us were running 4070's or Road Commodes, WFL's or the dreaded GMC "Crackerbox" and the "pro's", road drivers, mostly, had K100's or 352's. Can't go wrong with the Detroit, great motor. I guess a stretched K100 with 8 bag and air steer and a 500 Detroit, would be a sharp truck,,,just not for me.

    my dad drove K100's all thru my chidhood. i was frankly surprised he restored a 359 pete rather than a K100. the best interiors by far.

    one of these days he'll find the pics of the K100 he rolled in Arkansas around 1980 and i will post them up. i'll ask him where again,many of you will likely know the spot. tore the trailer off the truck,the king pin and front wall of the van was still attached. the wagon load of dynatronic/microtronic microwaves was in the twisted wagon un-attached to the truck.

    Oh ya. Those cursed COE's Rode like a brick sitting on concrete block. Crossing a curb at 45 degrees inducted a vicious spine tearing whip across the front steer straight to you.

    I have quit companies the moment I realized by assigned unit number turned out to be one of those jailhouse blocks. They say WTF? I say hell no. And you wondered why employment records are the way they were.
