@Bob Dobalina , you went by MTS like he was tied to a post! What are you guys governed at, 75? Or was he just going that slowly?

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

We are governed at 68. I don't go anywhere near that in a 55, but when I was closing in on that truck I slowed down to 50 to gauge his speed and he was even under that a little. I was light, so I got a running start to get by him quick.

Occasionally, I'll come across drivers on some of those 2-lane roads going WAY too slow. Luckily this one was straight and smooth and plenty wide so as to not scare either of us!

I saw your post about the speed in your other thread after I said that. I've spent all day following plodding tourists around Vermont 2-lanes, so I'm a little quick on the trigger. Someone doing 35 in a 50 for mile after mile with no passing areas anywhere will wind your clock a little on a good day... :-D

the aa in kentucky ain't no easy pass, either. i run that road 3-4 days a week. the single dotted line is a plenty, but actual visibility and available room is not. people have 2 speeds in that road. fast or painfully slow, no middle ground.

Also, I ended up doing just shy of 600 miles that night in 5 legs, with a total of 1.5 hours of delays. 200 of those miles were on those roads, with varying speed limits and through small towns with several stop signs and turns. Too much of running that slow might have pushed me over my 14.

Better to get around someone like that than to tailgate him and try to bully him to pick up the pace.

Man what a crap night. Doing PTI on my rear box, and didn't have any upper clearance lights on the tail. The dock somehow snagged the wiring when they closed the door and I had broken wires dangling out the top. I took it straight to the shop and burned up an hour and a half of duty time getting it fixed.

Made it back out of Nashville just before traffic got bad, and through Louisville after morning rush settled down. That ended up being pretty good timing and I didn't have to race the clock like I expected. I still wish I didn't have to fool with the lights though.

Last Wednesday I had to get kind of an early start, and ended up having an air line burst on me in the yard and I had to fix that, it kinda sucked, but I still made it down town early enough to be first in line at the tower.
