Learn to chain don't be one of these "If its blah excuse people" sometimes popping on the chains driving 25-35 mph for a few miles will get you out of some super ####ty situations that will just have you stuck because some weak excuse.

That's all good and well, problem is you could be sitting for up to 3 days waiting if there is an ice storm passing through as this is quite frequent out here in the west Rocky's and Coastals.

    QuietStorm Thanks this.

Ya Socks don't work out west as the snow is too wet, just watch Highway Through Hell sometime and see guys getting stuck coming up the hill and having to be towed up. Socks only work good on dry snow but are handy to carry for emergencies.

Here is my chain story . We were headed to Portland Oregon, November maybe dont remember. Got turned around just past the Baker Truck Corral on 84 cause we dint have chains in the truck. went back to the corral. Company said Oh if you just go ahead and buy em yourself you can keep em forever and ever. We said no, if you want chains on YOUR truck, YOU gonna buy em. And they did. Not once, but twice lol

In Oregon when chain up is required you need to chain 4 drives and 2 trailers tires. Learned this the hard way. Near the Hoodoo ski area on US 20. The State Trooper did me a favor by stopping me.

Get a job running in the bush. Chains on and off 4 times a day sometimes.
