Nope owner operator in this terminal have dedicated routes, a guy goes daily to lower Massachusetts(each trip pays right about 1k, he delivers and reload for the next day), another one does Maryland, Delaware and some reloads from the Baltimore terminal and there's the one that only goes to Montreal and back(the ones I have talked to)... The rest are company drivers and people reloading out of this area.... But they do show you what's available and the pay before you choose it
Big Herb The Trucker and 77fib77 Thank this. -
What terminal was the guy saying he makes 3000 to 3500 a week and home weekends? If he told you and if you remember. -
This terminal is aggressive when it comes to hiring since they haul a stupid amount of methanol to the new England area due to the winter and it's the only terminal within the driving range of the ports.... The only terminals in the tri-state area is Bridgeport,nj and the one in Massachusetts... I know about the one in somewhere upstate NY but no clue what's their main haul.77fib77 Thanks this. -
well so far, I have been doing a lot of preloads and a load so this are the numbers for the a 452 miles trip
994.12 linehaul plus 452x.21(for every mile ran loaded or empty)=94.92 dollars(fuel surcharge) plus tolls 216.34=1305.38/452=2.88 a mile.... 234 dollars worth of diesel + 4(round trip for the mass pike) 32.75(tappan zee bridge)+ 37.60(nj turnpike round trip)= 308.50 in expenses for a whopping take home of almost 1k per trip(can be done daily)
main concern that whole do not go 5 over the speed limit it was actually a distraction when the speed limit is 55(some places in ct) and you are used to do 6 to 8 over the speed limit all (trucks are limited to 68mph). I kept looking down to make sure I was not going over it.
I guess I just have to get used to itBig Herb The Trucker and 77fib77 Thank this. -
ChicagoJohn Thanks this.
