Am I out of my mind for wanting to do this ?

I've never worked for Melton or TMC, so not sure why I'm expected to comprehend the pay between the two. I'm just stating my opinion as to what I see on the road. And ya I've seen the bad tarping/securement from lots myself.

Did not mean the comprehend part to you, just get tired of seeing all the posts on this sight misleading new guys about pay. ( percentage vs mileage, small company vs large company, etc. ) Not from you, I just through it out there.

 

I was in a similar position 3 years ago, I haven't regretted it. Still enjoy what I'm doing.

 

Melton and TMC are bottom rung companies.

No need to go there unless you have an issue that requires bottom rung status.

 

I say go for it, if it's what you really want. I would seriously look at and for companies that are not major mega carriers. Best of luck to ya.

Plenty of small companies that will hire new guys. I got my license on my own & thought about going to a small outfit. There's some good ones out there, but choose poorly & you'll be the guy hanging around the flying j looking for fuel money or a ride home.
