Wassup y'all, and greetings from Merrillville, Indiana. Tonight I'm calling the Walmart parking lot home. Today was a picture perfect day in every aspect. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and the traffic was light. It was also a very productive day. I had to deal with a few slow climbs in West Virginia, and some fog on parts of 64 and 35. Other than that, it was smooth as silk. I stopped just inside the Indiana/Ohio border and took a 30 and grabbed a shower. Then the battle began. The devil and angel on my shoulder started fighting about where to stop for the night. Should I be responsible and head to my fuel stop in Gary and crash for the night, or stop off in Lebanon and blow off a little steam? Those two bickered for a while and came to a compromise. Merrillville. I'm 12 miles from my fuel stop and logged 580 miles for the day. That's 100 more than I would have had if I stopped in Lebanon. And I get to top off my groceries. And there's a Joe's Crab Shack right next door. Win win winThis load can drop whenever tomorrow, which is awesome. I'll get a full night's sleep, and I'll be able to slide around Chicago and Milwaukee before traffic gets heavy. If life got any better today, I'm not sure if I could handle it. My tail is definitely wagging, you're looking at one seriously happy trucker. I hope you guys are doing well out there. I'll catch ya on the flipside. As always, be safe out there, and keep the rubber side down. Peace mother truckers, I'm out.

Wassup peeps. Tonight I'm in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Today was an extreme contrast to yesterday's experience. It sucked. Traffic getting to West Allis was a complete nightmare. When I got there and dropped my trailer, no empties. Opie gave me a shuttle run to West Milwaukee that netted me a whopping 6 miles and ate up almost 2 hours of time. Then I got sent to Horicon to pick up a 4 stop John Deere load. I wanted to get past Chicago but I didn't have enough time left in my day. I would easily have made it if not for that worthless 6 mile run. But traffic was ramping up and I would've been caught in the heart of rush hour traffic in Chicago and run out of time before I was parked. Tomorrow is the last full day I have on my 70. I MIGHT be able to to get to my first stop tomorrow if everything goes just right, but when does that ever happen? And even if I do, it's not likely that I'll get parked before my time runs out. The next day I get back an hour and a half. That's it. This is a cluster F if ever there was one, and my good mood from yesterday just got murdered. This week ain't looking good, I know that. I would much rather have taken that short run and then headed to Richfield for a reset. It sure as hell would have made a lot more sense than this mess. That's all I have for today. I'm gonna go find a wall to put my fist through, then scan in a couple bills. Catch y'all tomorrow. Peace.
