Not sure why it's believed that one must be an o/o to use pc, I am company and use it from receiver to nearby truck stop after almost every trip, unless heading straight to another shipper. Like many have stated, elogs are not the problem, it's hos in general and you chose to park in a nonparking spot to begin with, why not go to pilot across street to begin with rather than complain after being told to move. As far as pay to park, ppl purchase and pay taxes for parcels of property, why should we be guaranteed to use it for free? Truckers think we are the most important in the world and all others should be at our service for free, it's disgusting. How about you (not necessarily op, rather drivers that think this way) haul your next load for free since your all about that free service life. I like pay to park at times, it generally guarantees a spot on late nights, while dozens of drivers are parked illegally on curbs and around scale (I swear if there weren't scales, some drivers would be lost when finding a place to park) waiting for the knock and boot, I am taking a spot they could have had hrs ago that company will reimburse me for anyway.

How exactly will they affect flatbedders more, sounds like some fairly regular hours of operation at customers (7-3) and generally aren't waiting hours to be loaded/unloaded. Reefer drivers have pu/drop at all hrs if day, can oftentimes change drastically from one load to next and it's not uncommon to spend half a day at a customer. Seems to me, from what you have said as well as the several flatbedders I know that planning is pretty routine for y'all, but yes it will affect you most, because well everything does, poor guy. The world is against you.

Some truck drivers are the most pompous folks I've ever seen. I mean good Lord, some of you are ready to crucify the poor guy for not "planning" properly LOL.

I dunno, this 5mph thing may be a blessing in disguise. It'll slow down the auto-trans driving morons who drive pedal-to-the-metal in the truck stop.

Sometimes I want to throw a ####ing spike strip.

Reading comprehension issue here.....lilillil is saying the ELD rules will help stop this, if the folks you mentioned are currently doing this then nope, they don't have election system in place to help prevent said behavior. The English language can be soooo complicated for some....

I'm starting to think a lot of you haters on this site spend more time keyboard cowboying than driving.. I start early, have a wide open truck, keep my left door shut and still have been in a bind to have to pay for parking here and there. Starting to think it's because all you keyboard cowboys drove your 300 miles for the day and had to clog up the truck stops to get on here and bash folks and cheerlead for elogs and hos.. I don't think I'm the crazy one for trying to squeeze the most out of my hos since hos and your paycheck generally goes hand in hand. And don't think for one minute these truck stops won't wise up to how valuable parking is and increase the number of pay spots.. they already take advantage of us now.

Busted, you got me as I sit here in a hotel room during a course to become a trainer to new drivers. Are you one of the cowboys you speak of, I mean you had the time for a post, must not ever be actually working.....silliness.
