Rand McNally ELD 50 questions

I have the eld 50 and the rand's McNally overdryve, I have a problem where I'll be in the sleeper and it will throw me on to driving while I'm sleeping then go back to either off duty or sleeper. Then for that 6, mins it says you were driving you can't change it and screws up your whole night

 

I think I know what the issue is. I have to verify , but it might be GPS drift.

Without a doubt it's drift.

 

I have been in contact with the ELD folks at Rand. This is their response. A firmware update was pushed. I am seeing what version you should be on.

This is a false speed reported from the ECM. Once the speed threshold hits> 5 mph it is considered driving as per mandate. You have to stop for 300 seconds to get out of Driving.

I’m having the same problem and I do my pretrip start driving get to my first stop go on duty for 30 minuets then I’ll go off duty for 30 minuets then go back driving stop for fuel and my first stop is gone and now I’m in violation it will go to the drive or on duty line

 

Have you talked to Rand Mcnally I had mine 45 days it’s doing what it wants to do u check it and everything looks good then it goes crazy I have to fix logs every day this is more work than paper logs
