I'm not saying it can't be defeated, but the "simple" ways are fairly well covered by the new regs. -
can somebody suggest me how to handle this situation with ELD. Arrived at receiver last night and marked sleeper. in the morning after delivery I will need to drive 15 miles to the truck stop. I have been in the sleeper 11 hours and my next pickup is 2pm. The receiver does not let me stay in their's yard. What to do , how handle this situation? If I drive it will be recorded and my 14 hours limit will decrease my driving time for today. I have heard that some ELDs don't record 15-20 miles on line 5. is it true or false?
brar Thanks this. -
When you got empty you didn't know where your next load is. Wink wink. So when you are unladen you went in search of a hot meal, which happened to be at the truck stop 15 miles away. Is that an unreasonable distance? Up for debate. Once at the restaurant you were later dispatched on a load that picks up at 2 pm.
Why would pc be disallowed in this situation? Assume the driver did not have the next load dispatched already. It's what I intend to do.BoostedTeg, redoctober83 and mhyn Thank this. -

.............Presented with a circumstance of an exceedingly lengthy delay at the shipper or receiver that causes the driver’s 14-hour clock to run out, DeLorenzo said proceeding to a safe haven/parking location/truck stop would not be considered personal conveyance. ... -
