I never had issues with the Canadian side. Any time I had problems , it was always when coming back across. Every so often I would run into a customs kid with a god complex.

Low and behold, up in Emerson ND, at 11pm on a Saturday night, being the only truck crossing the border, the personality and attitude of the customs people was disgusting. Even when I was directed into the X-ray booth to get the whole truck and trailer looked at. Dude must have been pissed when he had to do his job. I've always said, since I became a young adult, if one wants to become fat and lazy, join a union or get a civil service job.

God complex is the best way to describe it. The CBP guy I dealt with on Friday seemed genuinely nice. He must be new or missed all the "Treat innocent American citizens like ####" classes when he was at the Academy.

Hey now, those were some of the best classes. Ranking right up there with the classes on donuts, coffee, and convenience stores!

Unfortunately some just dont know when to be nice and when not to be.

Its been a crazy month for me so briefly here goes.

But first update on the misses, orientation completed, currently in california with Shirley starting back east. Sounds like shes doing good so far.

Home last weekend, out 2 weeks before that. 5000 dispatched miles bouncing to massacheusetts and connecticut and upstate new york mostly.

Since last sunday morning when i left richmond va ive been to boston mass, york pa, richmond va, kutztown pa, dallas pa, wytheville va, springfield missouri, w memphis arkansas, and am now currently sitting in western oklahoma not to far from texas. Swapping with a team and then going back to upstate ny. Have not quite 2 hrs left on 70 and recap starts tonight. Gotta doublecheck my math but looks like i should make my midday wednesday delivery, but just barely. Running 70 to an hr or less each day looks like.

I met your wife briefly on Wednesday when her and Shirley were getting ready to leave. I've spoken with Shirley and hear your wife is doing fine.

They're really stretching the definition of "Northeast regional" I see...

While the wide-open spaces might make you nervous compared to the claustrophobic conditions of the NE, there are stretches of I-40 in Arkansas and Oklahoma that should make you feel right at home due to the terrible road quality.

    460/580 and Redtwin Thank this.

Yup. There are definately plenty of bumps to remind me of the good ol northeast, though none on 40 set my camera off.

But some of the really nerve wracking things ive found include the ginormous parking spaces in russelville arkansas, numerous parking spaces in oklahoma city at midnight for a shower, amd lane shift markings that accomodate a trailer swing!
