Load and unload pays $20 for the first 2 hours then $16.16 per hour. The $20 sucks when they actually take 2 hours but is great when grabbing a loaded trailer or drop hooking a delivery. It tends to even out.

Layover starts after 14 hours sitting anywhere. You are then paid 16.16 per hour for the next 10 hours. Then the 14 free hours starts over. This does not apply to loading and unloading. Then they pay all hours after 2. Most I ever collected was 24.

This thread has my numbers for the last coupl of years in it:

Ok, so as far as loading and unloading pay go's orange pay seems to be better unless get stuck their for many hours, which does happen at times. The layover pay is what really separates the two. You can get 160 bucks for 24 hours. I can get 65 only, just a small difference lol ... shoot that's huge

It's also possible to pick up layover pay on loads with lots of time on them. Run like hell then sit until the delivery appointment and get paid after 14 hours. The 10 hour break counts in the 14.

Yea I do that too but I must have 24 hr or atleast close to it to get the 65. And you said you get 20 dollars for even picking up a pre loaded? I don't get anything for this and sometimes it takes aslong as it does to get live loaded in some of these places.

There is a place on the travel order where we write down our times for loading/unloading. As long as your info is in there you get paid. Occasionally paperwork is on the nose but usually we get a fresh travel order with it.
