What pain in the ### garbage freight do you pick up or deliver? I have this place that makes aluminum and wood window frame pieces for big custom jobs. This crap comes in 22 foot long bundles weighing 1500 lbs or so. I have to take a pup cuz the place is tight and small. If they have 2 of these bundles and some 4x4 skids my trailer is full and I have to go back to the terminal to swap for an empty to go finish pickups. If they have more than 2 bundles they have to send another truck to pickup the rest. Absolute garbage freight.

Penguins. In a reefer. Vets, zookeepers in chase, fish...The smell! Tiny gods! Took us five pounds of coffee to get the worst of it.

I picked up coffee beans in Jersey one time. Was at the shipper for 8 hours while they hand-loaded each bag directly onto the floor of my trailer. 45k load, only $1/mile, 3 different stops that had to hand-unload, and a huge mess to clean up afterwards... Never again!

There's a place in St. Louis that makes plastic pallets out of old diapers. That's pretty terrible. And since you're posting this on the LTL thread, I have a feeling you know all about playground set deliveries to residentials.

Haven't had those yet, but I did have a 2600 lb pallet of clay going to a residential up the driveway into the garage. That was a fun ####ing delivery I tell ya!

Ha! Oh dude I bet. We'd get those playground tree house things and they're like 10 feet long, heavier than ever living $&@% but only on one end. And always loaded heavy end toward the nose, so you'd about leave your clackers in the trailer trying to drag it onto the liftgate that it wouldn't fit on. And yes, I've never realized how many driveways go "up" like you stated. And it doesn't take but a pebble under the pallet jack wheel to stop all of what little momentum I'd have going. And then some people would be like "now do you set it up too?". They'll send someone by later. :evil4:

One time I had a residential delivery of a pallet of energy drinks-2500 lbs of energy drinks. I lift gate the pallet onto the street and started from the middle of the street with a running start to try to get up the driveway into the garage. The ####ing control joints in the concrete were killing my momentum. The lady who was home was pushing on the pallet with all of her 90 lb might as I was pulling and we managed to barely get that ####er in the garage. My legs never felt so much like Jell-O.

All her 90 lb might. Haha! Yea the good ole Jell-O legs. I guess that's how she keeps the weight off. Blasting through energy drinks so often she decided to spring for the pallet. It is interessting what people order sometimes. One guy bought a Weber grill. Like the charcoal one every one in America has. He was all concerned on the phone "how's it look? Is it damaged? How's the box? I'm worried about it gettin damaged during shipping." Anyway long story short he warned me about not being able to get into his subdivision and getting turned around. "I'll just meet you at Wal Mart they got plenty of room for you." Ya know you could have just drove your happy ### down here quite literally anytime and bought one off the shelf.

I have learned one incontrovertible truth in this life and it is this-people are just too ####ing stupid. Like the cheap ##### who have their freight delivered to their work place to avoid the residential and liftgate fees. They wind up paying more money to rent a U Haul or similar and taking time off work to pick it up from the work place dock and get it home.
