Alright, guys and gals. A question for you CB wizards out there. Purchased a new CB and mirror mounted antenna for the truck, as we all know these internal factory antennas on the Cascadias are about worthless. The day after I installed everything I started getting a No GPS Signal on my Rand McNally GPS. It would freeze up for awhile and then reaquire the signal. Did this regularly throughout the day. Thought maybe the GPS was taking a dump so I bought a new one.
Same model GPS as the old one, and after putting it on the windshield, it started doing the same thing. Started thinking it could be the coax I installed so I switched my CB back to the factory installed coax.
Am I looking at a coax issue or an antenna ground issue here? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What gps is it..The gps may need updateing...
I know most rand mcnally gps units would work fine 1 min then freeze up..I had a cpl 500 modeled and they worked fine when they worked ut when they freeze up i had to shut off and restart..
Other than that cb shouldnt affect gps..If anything the charger puts out a good bit of atray rf noise in a radio..Then again hid and led lights do the same..Blaskowitz and GearJammer0224 Thank this. -
Blaskowitz Thanks this.

Odd...Dont see how it affects it but seems it did..
Be aware that chances are that gps will freeze up every so often..Unless you get a fluke one just lettin ya know..
I have a 2 530's a 525 and 500 i think..All did the same and rm cant seem to solve the issue...
I found a deal on the tnd tablet and bought..ZERO issues..
If you end up haven to get another go the tablet or a garman diesel..
Dont bother with any of the 530 series or 700 s in rm.. -

Yeah the dezel seems to be the way to go if you dont like the rm tablet..My tablet has been flawless on the gps side..
The cam is so so the internet use wasnt bad but thats wifi..
Anyways i love my tabletQuietStorm Thanks this. -
Only thing I've ever had that jammed a GPS signal was a PeopleNet unit. I put a switch on the power wire so I could turn it off when I wanted to use the GPS.
