I decided to start a tire wear thread. We can all follow the wear of my Yoko's. The drives were new 28/32, and the steers were 18/32.

As of today @ 19,500 miles on all - wear pattern is dead even across all surfaces.

    Steers are 16/32.
    Front drives are 26/32.
    Rear drives are 25/32.

Well, here's a safety tip on the coffee. After 4 or 5 refills, the top of the cup cracks, thus ruining your clean shirt you just put on.

Totally OT, but I bought a set of Yokos for my car almost 3 years ago. Best tires I have ever owned. They ride and drive so nice. Have not had a flat and they never lose air pressure. No more cheap Chinese made tires for my car ever again.

They tried some of them drive tires on a few of our trucks. They're great in snow when new, but once they get below about 3/8 tread, they kinda suck. And for whatever reason, the two inside rows of tread would wear really weird. We'd get like three blocks of the tread in a row wearing really nice, but the next three would be lumpy. Kinda hard to describe, but overall they were pretty good tires

Well it is time to update Dave's tire wear thread, since my tires have exactly, I mean exactly 40,000 miles on them. Except I was tired, got my BOL's scanned and came home, and didn't measure them.
    BUT
I will when I go back out.

    Ok,

Weight. Weight matters a lot in tire wear, soooooo

You have 19500 miles..You Lost a few 32nds on all

What are your average weights?? 20,000 miles is almost a quarter year in OTR hauling (varies)

If your 40k on every haul Not too bad

Us Flatbed guys Wish to God we could get 2 years on a trailer or steer tire-

Sure, A Drive lasts 2-3 years....No Big Deal....We wanna see Longevity on a trailer or steer starting out at 28th's and going 2 years (or beyond) Without regrooving either.

kidding aside,i had yoko's on my steer axle, wore fine, but rode hard. i think thats why they call them super steel.

i think i may go with their ry023's on my trailer tho. let em ride hard back there,i want the longevity.

My theory on expensive tires is what happens when you run over something and its ruined? I've had caps that did well. All these came with the truck. I will probably get some steers next spring before it gets hot. I go from Phoenix to the High Country(s) pretty much all the time. I'm honestly more concerned about the temperature / elevation extremes putting a hurt on the sidewalls more than anything.

I drive in California a lot, and the pounding that right steer takes is unbelievable.
